Tools to control and monitor traffic and transport in Colombia.

OBJETO: Development of tools for planning the operation of the Traffic and Transport Control and Oversight in Colombia.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO: The consultancy surveyed the current situation of traffic and transport oversight and control through the compilation and analysis of existing information and some fieldwork in three m major cities - Montería, Medellín and Neiva . and a section of the National Highways Network. A Guide was produced with the main features needed for a standardized operational development of the traffic and transport oversight and control, and four short-term oversight and control schemes were developed for the three cities studied and a section of the national highways network, in a participatory exercise involving the traffic authority and / or road control groups or traffic police forces. Lastly, the first phase of the Procedures Manual for the control and oversight of Traffic and Transport in Colombia was drawn up, with 8 procedures which would have a strong impact on road accident statistics, on offenses and on attention for victims.
